Being as Clair is taking this on solo, I think we should support her every step of the way, in whatever way we can.
Come on people, lets make a riot about it.
Well done Clair, hats off to you girl!!

Hi guys...! There's more info i have found out. The cable tie solution worked for me for a very good while... btw my car also has the problem that if you fill the tank the needle will rise onle to 3/4 So, i have figured out that the MOD must have some kind of security system for computing kilometers per liter... what i'm saying is that if you OVER FILL the gas tank (in order to rise the needle to the very top) will make the electronic system crash. Fill it until the gas pump stops and no more... I have also figured out that if you overfill it will mess up your left frontal light (has happened twice to me...) Peugeot has great car designers, but i think their chip engineers are somewhat dumb (or everything is programmed to keep us coming back to fix it $$ ) Look around and see how many 206's have the frontal left light blinded and youll be amazed... a friend of mine just got a brand new silver 307cc (beautiful car...!) but one month later he complained that the electric system went nuts... i dunno people... maybe peugeot should outsource the electronic system... they are stealing from us anyway

My neighbours sons car(206 1.1 52 reg) started stalling / running rough. Took it to Pug dealer and they diagnosed that lambda sensor on exhaust manifold was u/s. They changed same and car cut out on way home from dealer. Took straight back and this time mechanic checked and found short in wiring loom in lhs of engine bay. Wire had corroded inside loom. Fault was found very quickly. This is a bit odd as why would mechanic go straight to certain point in loom. Is there something Peugeot are trying to keep quiet. His car is now running fine!

X757 Oct 2000 206 gti.
Very often has very rough idle from start up.
Every so often on certain days it will just about start and then just keeps stalling especially on the overun when I drop the clutch for a junction / roundabout etc.
It always restarts but it'as a right pain. It takes about twenty minutes of hard driving for it to sort itself out.
There seems to be no real pattern, it happens on both cold, mild and hot days. But it is more prevalent during colder periods. It recently happended after a rain shower.

Will...that sounds exactly the same as mine, more prominent in mornings but would do it just the same at the end of a long motorway journey...sorry to say it but mine had to have ECU to end the problems, tried stepper, coilpack, all new sensors allover...nothing worked until the ECU. Luckily watchdog and peugeot sorted it together as i was on the show with car, not sure what the costs would have been otherwise. Maybe its something to do with the name?
