There are three flavours of sporty C2's.
VTR - 110hp 1.6 with power sapping paddle shift gearbox - 0-60's about 9
VTS - 125hp 1.6 Tuned version of the VTR engine with a full manual gearbox and 0-60's about 8.2
GT - 110hp 1.6 but lightweight version of VTR, no air con, spot lights and fancy stuff, stripped out version with a full manual box, 0-60's in about 8.5 - 8.7

thats pretty high preformance for 1.6's how do they do it? thinks its all bout tuning the ECU. the 206 XSi share the same engine as the 106 GTi but it has more ponies.....its coz the GTi is meant to be faster hence the "poorer" performance of the 206XSi. nice choice thought u meant citreon ctr, hold there value quite well i think to. the ctr is a 2litre normal aspirated engine, that manages to push 197bhp........mainly down to the screaming vtec engine!!

If you want a car with a stonking engine and with standard internals etc that are rated upto 350bhp..............(Yup forged internals as standard!) buy yourselves a vw/audi/seat with a 1.8 20valve turbo motor!! Tons of tuning potential for bugger all money £500 takes my 1.8t upto 215bhp and 240lbft or torque, and a 14 second 1/4 mile at 98mph (standard my golfs 150bhp and 160lbft). Amother £500-800 on race cat and downpipe and you'll be touching 250bhp spend another 1000-1500 on a larger turbo and front ,mounted intercooler and your upto 300bhp ;D ;D ;D Really glad i p'exd my gti for a golf 1.8t. The 206 gti(138) isnt a quick car as standard, its more of a luke warm hatch. Looks and handling are all the 206gti 138 really ever had going for it. check this link out.... www.18turbo.com/enter.htmlps. sorry if i offend any 138 owners

sweet as a nut. Im still in awe at how bloody good this car is! sooo smooth and no rattles creaks bangs etc.
As for the remap, im still saving..... I bought a road bike (Honda RVF400) this january just gone , came off it after a month of having it (Hit some Diesel) ;D and caused a fair bit of damage. Its now fixed but with saving up for holidays the remap is on the back burner for the mo. Hopefully by this xmas should be done. Will post some movies of it once its done to convert all you 206 owners to the dark side.

its more or less the same. Paid £700 for the pug swapped insurance over to the golf and it only cost £14 and that was the admin charge.
Insurance is due again soon and ive been getting quotes between £600-650 fully comp protected.....
Golfs aint that expensive if you conider how reliable they are. My GTI was a 99 model and it had 50k on the clock, i got £4500 for it. i paid £7'800 for my golf and its a 5 door GTI 1.8t with 40k on the clock....... its only a 2000 model though!( I paid over the odds from the car....but its bloomin mint!)
You could pick up a motor like min for between £6000-£7000.... there are lots of bargains about, especially now the new golf has been about a while.
