Be careful when comparing power figures as welll. Did you watch Top Gear when they raced a C2 VTS against a Fiesta ST? The Fiesta has 20 bhp more but even though it did win the race, it wasn't by much at all. If that difference means anything to anybody on the road then they shouldn't be on the road! Woooohooooo!!!!!!! They also did a Fabia RSv against a C2 GT - oh and the C2 GT won Top Gear Hot Hatch of the Year

Why you got to test one when you got some money!! They will let you out in the car without the intention of buying one!!
Also my VTS is group 8 where the GTi was 14, the GTi was costing £800 a year to insure with 1 years NDB, but the VTS is cost me £500.
The only thing I can think of that would put you off a C2 is the rear seat leg room and the fact its a definate 4 seater. But if you don't have people in the back then thats not a worry.

just for the record i timed my gti's 0-60 last week on a cold evening at 7.8 secs.... not that im one to glorify my car as its not that great, rattles in every corner and im getting shot of it very soon AND its not as quick as a 172 but having said that ud definitely be wise to test drive every car ur looking at.. its the only real way to test how fast a car is...

Even on a test drive you cant fully experience the speed of a car. Only with owning one and getting to know it are you totally aware of it capabilities.

Buy an HDi 90...cheaper to go to France in too!

Nah need the power it's just some times i load 7 people in and all sorts of things so need the space but just want some more performance for day to day driving plus i wouldent touch a diesal with a barge pole hate the sound of them and just enjoy being able to treat myself to optimax and the likes, diesal will never be an option for me cos my family is all car enthusiasts cosworth owners and the likes already an outcast for going french lol.

yeah that was with my g/f timing from standstill, she weighs next to nothing anyway.. little bit tricky to do it yourself... when i suggested test driving all ur options i didnt mean time them, driving them around will give u a feel of how quick it is... as someone said its in gear acceleration that counts... u will instantly know which car feels quickest in a straight line, however u will only be aware of its full capabilities ie. top end/handling once u own it, as teddy said...

yeah thats true, well i really wanna stay peugeot but most of the reviews i read about the 180 were bad saying it was quicker yeah but not as powerfull low revs and not as much instant power and not as fun to drive normally said u had to really rev them to get them beasty. Just dont wanna make the wrong choice thats all.
