Thats the other way of doing a QS, is a BMC short shifter, but that actually replaces the whole selector arm rather than modifies you linkage.

maybe he discovered the wonder that is the griffith QS....easier and cost a fraction of the price of the b&m.....also not easily detectable.

So are these not miles better then?
They do cost loads, I always thought it was strange when you could pick a QS up for £30 odd!!

i think most jap cars with QS use the b&m method......not sure of its reliability against the griffith design.....but prob more sturdy.........most prob with the 206 it will erase the dodgy gear changing and make it less clunky!

That would be good - then you can let us know how it transforms the GTi gearbox!!
When I get GTi that will be first thing goin on it!!

Fitted today after a lot of blood, sweat, tears and bad words. Had to take of heatshield to fit qs. This was not easy. Then fitted qs which was a doddle. Refitted heatshield and tried. Jammed solid on heatshield. Had to 'fabricate' heatshield (bend it) away from qs. Took for a drive and change now feels lots shorter and a lot more positive. It is also heavier. I set it with the 'T' piece at the bottom of gear lever in the middle of the slot on the qs. I think the original qs would be a lot simpler to fit.

Did everyone who fitted a qs feel that the gear change got heavier?
