'Contraversial' Metal Monkey more like...
I' don't know... I've just called the garage and they say it's still with the pug dealer as they need to program it up still with the code that I had to get from home.
It probably will go as I have lost confidence in it now, when a car costs this much to repair compared to the current value of it you start to wonder wether it's worth it or not.

How pathetic is this... Peugeot say the new ECU is faulty, they can't program it so they have to order another one which will take at least another 2 days.... for crying out loud...

Oh oh oh and one MORE thing to add...
Peugeot are going to fit a spike protector on the coilpack at a cost of 3 quid to stop the coilpack in future from spiking the ECU. Well, if they know this would stop it why don't they fit them as standard???
If it's a case of they do fit them now to cars then why not offer it when someone goes in for a service? Or send a letter out to owners with the info on it? It's 3 quid that could save the customer paying out 600 odd quid on a new ECU!

Wardy, when you get car back, could you get a picture of spike protector and post it. I've already had to fit new coil and plugs and I don't want to cuff my ecu. Just so my nearest Pug dealer can't deny they exist!

homepage.ntlworld.com/the_wardster/pug_206/206spikemod.JPGI have circled the mod they did, a wire runs into the cable that has the light grey conenctor on it. you can see the shiney new coilpack where it plugs into, sorry the quality isn't the best it was on my mobile and I just picked it up an hour ago during lunch.
