Just had to get the car towed back home from birmingham and they said it was the coil pack as cylinder 1 was misfiring and the engine was running very lumpy how much are they roughly? Also on the way back the windscreen got chipped and will need replacing too... not happy, although that can wait till next month.

I got mine under warrenty so not sure... Sorry to hear about the troubles.
How big is the chip? RAC autowindscreens did a fix for windscreen chips where they inject stuff into it and smooth it off. I had it done on a chip that was about 3mm big, worked a treat and saved having the whole thing replaced. got it free too, as it wasnt flush the first time so they needed to smooth it a bit, and as i wasnt 100% happy first time i didnt have to pay.

I had exactly the same with my coil pack, they tell you to buy some rubber bits aswell, dont ask me what they are but they said it needs replacing, total cost from peugeot was £110 without fitting. fit it yourself it takes 2 mins max and they charge you £25 to fit it

Well Pug want 70.90 for the coil pack and 20 for the rubber extensions aswell most likely that will not include VAT for 110 ish altogether. This is not good, the car is stressing me out and making me down, its lovely having a 206 but I think now the missus is hear with me we dont make many journeys or even need 5 seats to perhaps a smart city would suffice, saw a nice diesel LHD blue silver one for 4k the other day which would be so economical or me, sure its slower but its cheaper to run and still has some warranty left... Plus the g/f may join with me and get one together which would be groovy if we could get a for four but I'm not holding out any hope for that!

Bloody hell thats expensive mate- get it from eurocar parts and there should be the rubber bits there too!!
Or get the rubber bits from a scrappy!!
Worth a look!!

Got a coil pack and set of extensions for about 100 from pug, just fit them in the car and....
....
...
No fix... instead before the engine light flashed, now its on constantly. I'm really peed off now as thats 100 quid down the drain and back to the drawing board, I'll try a spark plug from halfords tonight if they have one and see if that works but the AA guy tried it before and didnt make any difference.

It starts and ticks over, but only 3 plugs are effectively firing so the engine bay is vibrating a lot, even the exhaust is. I do not need this stress right now, as stress has a very bad effect on my health and its not nice grrrr

Try getting plugs from Peugeor dealer. Pug coil packs work better with Eyquem Or Bosch plugs. There has been a thread in here before about plugs and coil packs. See also : www.carmechanicsmag.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgiLook under the 'diagnostic and fault codes' section.
