Does anyone know if you can buy the coolant (antifreeze + distilled water) from pug so that topping up doesn't 'thin' the water/antifreeze solution it nearly being winter and all? Before you say it... Yes i know this is extremely lazy of me

Yes you can. Apparently, you can buy 100% mix (that works down to -40 deg), 50% or 30% mix. 50% should do it for the UK since i don't think you've seen less than -20 over there have you?
It's alo recommended to use strictly Pug-issue antifreeze since other brands (no matter how good they are) can corrode parts of cooling system much faster than normal. Apparently that has something to do with materials Peugeot uses or something.

Oh, and change it, if not every year, then max every 2 years, never use plain water in the cooling system but strictly and ALWAYS antifreeze, no matter if it's +40 outside.

Ok, I just brought the antifreeze... How many part antifreeze to water should it be? Apparently Pug have never sold the 'coolant' premixed

I wish i had a digital camera on me so i can go to my dealer, buy a liter bottle of premixed 50% antifreeze (it has 50% written at the side of it in biiiig block bald letters, and a Peugeot logo and lion all over it), take a picture of it and send it over so you can take it to your dealer and stick it up his a***! Idiot.
If you buy a 100% antifreeze, it's usually 50/50, depending on how low you want the antifreeze to go. 50/50, goes down to -40 deg. Yes, i know 100% antifreeze should be 100% antifreeze when you put it in, but NEVER put in just antifreeze, it always has to be mixed with distilled water. It usually says on the bottle.

No Mullet, you do not want to live where i live, trust me on this one ;D You would never know when some superpower will decide to bomb the s*** out of your city and country. Occupational hazard, i guess ;D Why would you want that?
Anyway it does matter. Different manufacturers use different materials for cooling system elements, different aluminium for the radiator, different rubber for hoses, different whatsitcalled for various thingamajigs etc... Some antifreezes contain chemicals that would easily and quickly corrode one type of plastic (that Peugeot uses for example) yet they would not harm, say, BMW coolant elements. Peugeot knows what's safe to use in the antifreeze in order not to corrode your coolant system and uses it in its own antifreezes. I tend to go for Peugeot recommended (well, Pug made, actually) coolants.

BTW has anyone else noticed that when the thread talks of coolants, advertisment bar above changes its topics (and links) to coolant-related websites! Not only true for coolant, i've noticed this for other topics as well. Clever man, our Nigel
