I'm absolutely FURIOUS!!! .....Went outside to my car yesterday and was greeted with a lovely metre-long scratch, all the way along the driver's side of my GTi! It wasn't there in the morning so some little tw8t obviously did it in broad daylight outside my house. Some people just have no respect for other people's property. Being a black car it looks even worse of course and so i can see myself having to dig into to my pockets to get it sorted. Gonna try and T-Cut it as best i can this weekend - Anyone else got any ideas / products that they can recommend? On a completely different note has anyone had any experience with the new Mini Cooper S? My mate bought one and i was giving him the standard banter......"Nice car - for a woman /hairdresser that is!" So it was even more embarrasing when he absolutely CAINED me later on in a little drag race I was shocked by how quick it was until i went for a passenger ride in it.......The little rocket hits 70MPH before u need to change up to 3rd gear No wonder its so quick off the mark - Not many small cars will be able to compete with that!

thats the benefit of the supercharger strapped to it.........the GTi should be able to beat a standard cooper however.
is the scratch t-cutable? or does it need a respray?

I hope its gonna be T-Cut but it does look quite deep....Guess i'll find out when i have a crack at it?!
As for the standard Cooper - One of my friends has one and the GTi eats it for breakfast
.....The Cooper S however is a whole different kettle of fish!

I wouldnt worry about being beaten by a Cooper S...just look at how much they cost! Esp with all the expensive options that they need!

t cut wont do nothing........ you need to get the wax stick T cut... go over the scratch fill in the scratch (doesnt matter how ruff it looks at first) take the T-cut solution with a damp cloth and rub into the scratch and smooth off any left over from he wax stick..... this does work nic in making it less visible......
but you will need to keep doing it every week or two as once the wax wears off it becomes very ugly as you can see the wax stick marks....
i had troubles yesterday with kids yesterday kicking stone from someones Gravel drive way.... a good load of stones wacked on my car.... i saw pure RED in my eyes got out started F'ing blinding @ them.... silly lil runts crapped thier pants.....
left two small scratch marks.... felt like strangeling one of them

the 180 on paper will not beat the MCS......
MCS 0-60 - 7.2 secs bhp - 170 torque (lb/ft) - 162
GTi180 0-60 - 7.4 secs bhp - 180 torque (lb/ft) 149

jeez didn't realise the cooper s has so much torque! depends which model according to parkers as 02 models have 162bhp with 155lb/ft torque and 04 models have the 170bhp with 162lb/ft torque... reckon it would bid to be an interesting race between the gti180 and cooper s i mean the cooper s also weighs an extra 100kg to gti180...

i think more importantly it comes down to the drivers of the car and whether they are good enough to get optimal performance from each car.
