Its a problem with the GPS function through the athermic windscreen, try and fit it near the very edge of the screen and see if it can connect.

Let us know how you get on please.
I know a few members have had trouble with GPS based systems that have to gain signals through the windscreen. One member even went as far as to get an external aerial and mount that inside the engine bay on the suspension strut to get signal for their TomTom Go.

I had a powered antennae for my GPS unit at one point, powere by the ciggy lighter socket, the external mount was magnetic and I placed it just above the door in the corner before the windshield, this was on my punto which was dark grey so you couldnt see it that much, it improved the signal 100 times compared to just having the GPS in the car un-aided.

i've got the S3 mate and i have it mouted to the left of the rear view mirriow so the antenna can talk through a bit of the windscreen which is not covered in the film; it works just fine up there. ;D
