Right chaps, I forgot about this thread on the board! My 206 now has 2000+ miles on the clock, and I did a 500 odd miles of motorway and country road driving and then did a calculation of my consumption since I got the car and IIRC its worked out at an average of 39mpg Not too bad now. Alan

remember when calculating and using gallon conversions etc... to use UK gallons as US gallons are different, it confused me at first when I tried to calculate my MPG.
I can get roughly 350+ miles to a full tank in my 1.4, but I have a sub and powerful head unit so they probably soak up a bit of gas.

Yeah I noticed that the gallons were different. My mate has a 306 1.4 & 206 1.1 (the wifes!) and they get excellent economy.
On the subject of economy - my mate mentioned that when it gets its first look over at the dealer that they turn off a running-in mode? My pug likes to start up cold at 1100rpm then when I move the car smoothly away it will be fine then suddenly the revs will drop and it splutters and picks itself back up (or stalls if I don't put the clutch pedal down) - I found this happens when I have'nt quite realised the clutch pedal - weird.
