Hey people, As ticket touting is becoming more and more worse and genuine fans are finding it hard to get tickets to concerts and events, myself and my sister are trying to do something about it, we're creating a website with info about the problem, we'll be shortly makign an online petition for people to sign and also we currently have a message board set up for people to openly discuss the topic. We have to start somewhere and hopefully we can get enough support from fans and high profile people too to help make a change in the law that prohibits touts buying tickets at face value and sellign them purely for profit at 2-3 times the value. The forum still smells of that new car smell as I have just made it this afternoon, now we need your guys help and need you to sign up and maybe post some topics so that we can get people interested, as an empty board won't get very many people returning back... The wensite address will be www.stop-the-touts.co.uk which currently is under construction, but the board is live over at www.stop-the-touts.co.uk/board so please head on over if you have 5 minutes and sign up and if you can, post a thread in support of this so we can make a difference! Thanks guys! P.S. Big, if you could sticky this I would be very grateful

Yup it does work, so please spread the word around to everyone you know, remember if emailing BC people so they dont get upset about you sending your email addy to everyone.
We are trying to get XFM to do a spot on the radio, and have written to loads of record companies for bands such as Coldplay, U2, Snow Patrol etc...
The only way we can get them to change is if everyone puts pressure on the government.

I'm with you on this one Wardy. I tried to log on to 3 different ticket companies to get tickets for U2 the other week and they were all overloaded so I couldn't get in. Tickets went on sale to 'normal' people at 9am and I was ready and waiting at 8:30 to get one. It's 9:10am now, ok it's only 10 mins after tickets went on sale, but I thought I'd take a quick peak on ebay....... Guess what? ? There were literally hundreds of tickets for sale at treble the price!!!!!!!!! How did this happen when most sites limited tickets to 4 each. I know they set up a website for 'members' where they were supposed to be able to buy advance tickets, but how could there be so many tickets for sale on ebay? ? I was well f**ked off about it I can tell you Anyone trying to beat the touts gets my support. GO FOR IT WARDY!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Em, we need as much support as we can get, we're posting on music group fan forums trying to get the word out, but it's going slowly with just me and another person doing it, but it's slowly getting there, if you post on other forums or have huge email address books of friends, please please BC them in a mass email to get more support, it's the only way!

I was at glasgow last night seeing Green Day at the SECC, awesome! They are my favorite band and it rocked so much!
There were touts standing outside when I was going in, and they asked about tickets and i said "sorry i dont believe in racisim" they were so confused it shut them up for a bit! Was very funny!
