Still on the subject does anyone know whether there is a special something to get all the glue off without damaging the body/paint work. I've spoken to Peugeot and they seem to think that it is bonding glue that holds it on and that if I try to remove it then I will definitely damage it.
HELP!!!!
Cheers cp33c

Do a search on this site for bonding glue or something i'm sure i've seen this mentioned in relation to taking the '206' and 'peugeot' badges off the back of the car... I believe they picked up some of the 'remover' from Halfords....

I think its a different glue that holds the spoiler on than what holds the badges on.
You will almost certainly damage the cars finish taking the glue off, but you might try heating it with a hairdrier and see if it becomes supple.
If not you need to get someone to do it in the bodshop, which means you might aswell get them to fit the spoiler too.l

So removing the glue will more than likely require a re-spray of that area/panel?

Maybe - cos thats some seriously strong stuff, and could have very well eaten into the paint to get a better fix.
I don't know, but quickgrip (no more nails) is so tough, you will take the plaster off before you can remove the wood you fixed to the wall.

Just had a proper look at the car (wifey's been driving it). It looks like the spoiler was held on by 2 really small screws and 2 black sticky pads. Makes me think if this was really installed by Peugeot. The black pads have come off quite easily, no marks. The paints a little bit chipped where they tried to get it off, but unless you really look you can't see it.
In a way I think I've had a lucky escape, at least I'm not stuck with glue (lol) that I can't get off and scratch marks where they've used a screwdriver, or something similar, to get it off.
Thinking about not putting a spoiler on it now. I've been looking at other 206's driving around and none of them have spoilers to nick so why should mine.
Thanks for all the advice, cp33c

Check this site out for body panels, paints etc and they do the spoiler for about 50 or 60 quid, its under the body panel section www.bodyshopwarehouse.co.uk/
