I thought the windscreen and 2 front side windows must have a minimum 70% light transmission Just to be awkward I'm gonna do it the other way round. Front side windows and windscreen, you are only allow to use the 35% tint. On every tint webpage I read it says that this is the maximum you can have to be the right side of the law, but they too won't garauntee that fact. The problem with all of this is you are at the whim of the bobby that gets you. If he thinks it too dark then he can write you a citation. Another may think its okay and let you go. You can't test it on the side of the road, and so therefore, its down to individual officers opinion. Just how are you gonna get the ones that are breaking the law. Err yeah Pete they can actually. Ones a passenger vehicle the other is a commercial veichle. They already fall under different rules now. You look at the price of a 206 van and its priced ex-VAT you look at a car and its price OTR. Thats just start of the differing rules.

Tinting is expensive for you guys isn't it?
Down here we seem to have the same rules for what is legal light transmission wise & whatnot... got mine done in "light smoke"... back window was done in one peice & only cost NZ$230 - that's GBP85 @ today's exchange rate!

Right enough's enough, I want mirror tints, would try it myself first... The tint I got before had no adhesive side it was just plain film both sides but from reading some intrsuctions there is film out there you apply that will bond to the window, I know you apply it with soapy water to stop it slipping.
Any ideas where the best place is to get some?

Wardy did you peel the backing off the tint before you tried fitting it last time, All tints come with a backing on thats needs to be peeled off The tint I used was called 'eclipse styling kit' I got it from my local kroozin shop

Here's how to separate it, get 2 pieces of sticky tape about 2" long stick a piece to each side of the tint at a corner leaving enough overhanging the edge for you to grab hold of then just pull apart.

www.pentagonglasstech.com/news_legal_update.aspwith reference to the above link, does it mean that you cant tint the front side wndows at all? not even just a little? i am thinking of getting my pug tinted and have been quoted £180(inc VAT)-is that good or bad? considering that you may not be able to tint the front side windows, its seems like a rip-off. also i dont know how long this company has been doing tints for tho they have been set up in this location for about 3months.
