but as teddy has pointed out somewhere, the GTi brakes set-up requires a different servo or something? so not entirely sure what u need to do the front conversion??

You won't need to do anything to the front as it already is disc based. You might need a stronger master cylinder.
Its the rear where you gotta swap the beam out, as you either have drums and a load valve or discs and ABS

so BIG, with the front brakes set-up, u just need new discs and stronger master cylinder (what is this?)
how bout calipers? i will def get new pads if i do this, greenstuff road pads!

On your motor Chi, I wouldn't think you would need to change anything other than the pads. As you have near as damn it a GTi setup caliper and disc setup. You only 1 model down from the GTi aren't you.
So I would just go for pads in your situation.

well the one down from the GTi is the XSi and i only have the XS, which i think is a lil bit different (not too sure meself)
so i am thinking new discs and pads, but not sure if i need anything else?

I would get the Brembo sports pack for the GTi, last time I looked it was under £200 at POTN

but more noticeable to insurance company, if i was to get a GTi set-up, then the only way u can tell is if u measure the disc....but with brembo's they blatantly are different to standard. tho brembo's are nice...
