Well I have been looking at quotes for exhaust systems for the GTi (dont worry Chi, I will not buy it before I get the thing ;D ) N e way, the best one seems to be the Peco Duplex system, as seen below: So what do you think, I can get it done for £314!!

How much do the parts add up to?? I mean you must be able to get the pipes over the counter, so how much you left for fitting??
I reckon you'll be looking at abou £150 to get that installed as you would need to weld new hanging brackets to the underside of the boot on the opposite exhaust section.

The bloke said I wouldnt have to move the spare wheel, said somethin bout moving it over!! God Knows!!
Not sure bout the parts Big, first place quoted me £375 fitted, Hi-Q asked me my best price, I told them and he said it would be £314 fitted, that includes the brackets and cutting a hole!!
I could really do with getting a bumper that has the holes already cut in as it will cost just over £100 to make the hole look the same!!
I am also not sure how loud Peco exhausts are?
N e one know?

i got the peco duplex system... the quality is actually really good, nothing like the tacky big bore range - comes with all the fitting brackets on the cat back system but needed an extra sleeve fitted as it was too short! think the system was around £300 alone at the time, mine is the 4 inch circular tailpipes barely audible at tickover, doesnt come alive til about 3000 revs, boy racer it is not..

So did you have to remove the spare wheel?
And also when they cut another hole in the bumper, how did you tidy it up?
I would like a bigger exhaust tailpipe personally, I think that one that fits the holes in bumper really tight looks the best!!

yeah, spare wheel has to be removed as the back box sits right in the middle of the well.. my mates dad is a panel beater, he copied the original cut out for the other side and used a fibreglass block in order to get the 'factory fitted style' lip.. not an easy job but worth it if u want it to look good. peco do loads of different stainless exhausts now. u dont have to go with that one,... check out this website www.carpartsdata.com/performancecentre/pages/main1.htm
