(props to the other forum for listing this site) www.ccfreunde.de/apportal/main.php?module=bastelecke206&c=bastelecke206&artid=182its in german, so use world.altavista.com/ and enter the complete url in translate webpage and choose german to english now this method is for the 206cc but they have shown it to be a simple procedure.... but my question is, does this apply to our cars? is the process the same? (by the way the site is filled with excellent how to's like changing the speedo, Ac light, CLock etc etc) |

I would personally say thats wot it is, but thats prob for a new car, ours would be all grubbed up and stiff to move I bet!

Why's that subframe red? Anybody else got a red one??? Mine has been painted silver and look a lot nicer than rusty orange...never thought of doing it red though...
Oh hang on a minute. It isn'r red, it's rusty too!

Haven't been able too, its all snowy and crap round my way at the mo and I don't want to risk denting it or someone else for that matter at the moment. I am hoping for better weather tomorrow, but THATS now not looking too promising. THIS WEATHER SUCKS BAD!! |

The weather is terrible, it shouldnt be this bad in March!! Should be getting sunnier!! I washed my car on Thurs and by fri is was dirtier that before I washed it, so why bother I thinks!!

Well if its a matter of adjusting the splines on the torsion bars then yeah it will work on most 206's, but its not the best method for lowering.

good stuff...i dont wanna lower the whole car but wouldnt mind the back sitting one notch lower....... gonna give this method a go later in the year when the weather is good and am done with uni

Well if its a matter of adjusting the splines on the torsion bars then yeah it will work on most 206's, but its not the best method for lowering. why is that? is it coz it dont lower it down by an exact measurement, like 30mm, 35mm, 40mm etc? |

No quite the opposite, lowering on splines gives you an exact lowering. But it puts more twist in the torsion bar, and with the lowering effect you get a stiffness effect too, which is why if you are lowering more then you should uprate your torsion bar, as the stiffening effect puts more strain through the bar, and a thicker bar will take more strain.
I am sure teddy can help you out on the deeper technical side of this procedure.
