Custom/uprated gearboxes cost big £££'s....more than a new car would cost...

yeah man the whole gear system is clunky and the change between 1 and 2 is the worst, i dont change that rapidly as i hate the sound and it feels bad, linkages go after about a mile after being refitted, damn i need a new gearbox. car was like it when i bought it the guy was rip off merchant putty in the exhaust and grease in the gear boix to get me through the test drive

have u had the gear linkage replaced with a new one? it happened to me too and got it repaired and its been fine since..........just make sure that u slot it into gear as opposed to throwing it into gear.
its worth investing in a QS if u havent already...........makes life changing much more bearable!

if it has been changed then it may be the case that you are changing gears with too much force???
mine has been fine since i have had it changed and i make sure now that i delicately and smoothly slot it into gear, whether its up-shift or down-shift.
who fitted your new gear linkage? was it pug or independent garage?

independent, that may be the case but im not joking it was fine when i left the garage then a quarter of mile down the road like 6 changes or somthing the problem was starting again!! damn
