well i called up r-tec (for those who know) who quoted me £200.00 to fit (inc torsion bar but no tracking) and provide lowering springs, but thats for PI springs......i asked bout eibach and his response was because it is only a light little car, then i wont really feel the difference in springs.............is this tru? also called up elite in dagenham who quoted me £266.00 for fitting (inc torsion bar), tracking and supplying the springs? also spoke to the garage who said that he will charge £125 for fitting (springs, torsion bar and tracking) as long as i provide the springs. which of the above would u lot choose?

Light cars are more sensitive to small suspension changes than heavier cars so whoever said you won't feel the difference is talking nonsense.
I've got the Pro Kit springs on my GTi and they are fine. Well made too. Everybody recommends them so all those people can't be wrong can they??? There's some pictures about of my car somewhere...
Don't worry about them just dropping the car 30mm - it's still enough to prevent me getting my hand under the arch on my car... Labour charges for lowering are reasonable at £60 for the front and £80 for the back...

whereabouts u based teddy to get the cheaper labour?
think i am gonna get the springs meself (eibach pro-kit) and take it to the mechanic to fit for £125 (plus the £100 for the springs) doesnt work out too badly.

I'm in Blackpool...that's what i was offered when i wanted my suspension fitting....in did the back myself so just paid the £60 to get the fronts fitted as i didnt have time to do it myself...
Pro Kit springs cost about £90 i think and at least you'll be able to sell them when you flog your car...you might struggle with other cheaper brands...

so £125 for fitting both the springs, torsion bar and also tracking afterwards is good then.
oh....teddy i actually spoke to someone from r-tec who said that PI springs and eibach springs would feel similar to each other, also they said that the tracking shouldnt have to be done after its been done......leave it for a week or two.

I'd still get the Eibachs - the garage might be able to get the PI springs cheaper so maybe there's more profit margin involved....i'd get the springs yourself...
£125 seems a reasonable price for labour yes...
Befire you get the car done, (at least 2 weeks before)help keep the garage sweet by spraying loads of WD40 or releasing oil on the torsion bars ends to help release them...

i used 3 different springs.. Sracing, Eibach Pro-Kit, Eibach Sportline...
Best for handling is pro-kit. Sportline lowers about 50mm, seems much better but at high speeds front of the car is not so much rigid sometimes it disturbes.. I m using sportline because lower is beatiful, i think..
Be sure to lower front and back same measure...
If you can change shock absorbers with springs you ll be surprised when you drive your 206..

when you lower a 206 (gti) is it best to get springs and shockers/dampers, then adjust the torison bar?or just a set of springs then adjust torison bar?would the ride/handaling be crap with shorter springs and standard shocks/dampers?

It's always best to change both springs and dampers. The original dampers aren't really good enough for standard springs, never mind harder ones! When it comes to springs and dampers always get the best your budget will stretch to.

if i get a sports suspension kit (g-max) will that be four shockers & four springs therefore removeing the torison bar all together! and with sports springs, that will be two springs and two front shockers rear torison bar adjusted? just want to lower 35m......

All pug kits have 4 dampers and 2 springs. You just adjust the rear torsion bars. Better still if you uprate the rear torsion bars.
Can you not stretch to Koni dameprs?
