Hi guys,
Next on the list is an induction kit... I want something that not only looks fly when i pop d hud, but also gives me an ummph in bhp and that throaty purr while d engine is idle, which scares d crap outa d cars around you.... ;D
I know K&N panel filters are sup 2 b good, I was thinking something bigger, not to keen on the viper induction as its to expensive, im not sure what else is on the market at the moment thats decent

K&N filters are over rated n too commercial i resent that statement...... i have one and it feels wkd! make sure u get one that is enclosed so no hot air is sucked in and lose power.....very pricey tho to get such a one.

i resent that statement...... i have one and it feels wkd! So do I, but each to their own Chi, personally I don't rate Piper, but M3 may want to challenge that.

no lee, i do have a k&n panel filter and i notice how it revs much more freely and over about 2000-3000rpm, there is a slight sound that i like.
yeh its tru BIG, each to their own, tho i will support the k&n panel filter in any discussion!!!........U HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!..........lol

Viper kits are going for under 150 on some websites so im tempted to go in for one, i might wait a litle longer..
How abt these ebay mods? I know there not recom but have you read the reviews? 99% of the people who purchase and install do notice power inc with out any compliants....realistically would it decrease the life of your engine by what?

I would take a Viper kit any day. If you can afford it, I would take it.
What performance mod on ebay are you talking about. One I have seen is a penny resistor from Maplins and some are proper ECU bypass modules that change the fuelling on the car.
One I wouldn't trust and will damage my car, and the other will be okay, but not do the car THAT much good.

apparently (according to another forum) u can get your current ECU remapped and its invisible to both insurance companies and diagnostic machines but only really works well with cams, inductions kit, xorst system with manifold.

This is a possibility - places like Superchips do this. The trouble with getting your exisiting ECU remapped is that it may interfere with anything else that it controls (and we all know how much of a headache a 'normal' ECU gives various people at the best of times).

well if u know where to get one from (resistor) and can fit oit yourself then go for it, tho i have no idea what effect it has on the engine.
but def dont buy it off eBay, its a rip off on there!!!
just go for the k&n panel filter, only cost ya £30.00 and it will last you the life of the car, doddle to fit and you do get a soft purr (may not be as loud as an induction kit) but still very nice sound!
