I need to upgrade the brakes on my car, since i don't feel all that safe with standard anchors anymore. Small matter of an extra 50ish bhp might have something to do with it ;D
I'm thinking about Hi-Spec 4 piston calipers, some Ferodo pads, DOT 5 fluid and braided hoses. Maybe a master cylinder as well.
What i need to know is does anyone have braided (teflon) brake hoses on their car along with standard brakes? I know these hoses should (theoretically at least) be resistant to dilatation when brake is applied (as opposed to the rubber hoses). If anybody has them fitted i need to know if he noticed any change with them fitted.
They're not all that expensive to make (less than 60 for a set of 4), but i don't have money to waste and if it's not worth it i'd rather spend it elsewhere.

I know this is not related to the question you asked...but do you really want DOT 5 fluid and not DOT 5.1??? Dot 5 is the synthetic stuff and needs changing more often. This is why it is mainly used for racing. Whereas the Dot 5.1 is similar to the Dot 3 and 4 and only needs renewing every 2 yrs.

It IS 5.1 oil actually, it's Motul 5.1 brake oil (i've changed it yesterday), i just thought there's no need to mention the .1 part since i thought it's the same as DOT 5 fluid. Guess not ;D Oh, you learn every day ;D ;D ;D
Thanks Adi!
