Any help appreciated - as you accelerate "briskly" and change up, particularly between 2nd and 3rd gearsand the revs are high, when the clutch goes in the car moves unervingly to the right... tracking or something more sinister ??

Are we talking GTi here??
If so thats torque steer, the power from the engine getting to one wheel first, therefore making it turn slightly faster than the other wheel and that makes the car pull to one side. Also the camber of the road helps amplify the effect.

Thanks ! As an ex-mini racer I understand that, it's just that I don't expect such a significant leap to the right from a road car ? I read somewhere else on this site that the rear suspension geometry allows passive rear wheel steering through toe-in - are there any bushes that can wear and cause a rapid transition to oversteer ?
thks
