Hi,
I've got a 206 GTI 2001. The lights keep turning themselves on and off, even in daylight. I've disabled the autolights function but these keep doing it.
Has anyone experienced this problem? The bulbs keep blowing too.
Hope you can help.

This sounds like a loose connection!! There is obviously a power surge from somewhere to blow the bulbs!!
Have you checked all the cables behind the light itself, to see that none or loose or bare wires etc?

Well sort of.
Had a bit of a wiggle of the wires with lights off to see if anyhting happened. The only thing that seems to stop this is driving with the sidelights on.
Will keep looking as it's quite bad, people think I'm flashing them to come out of junctions when I'm not.
Thanks for your help

If putting the sidelights on stops the lights going on & off then the autolights are causing this.
If, as you say, you have disabled the auto-lights feature then I would pop it along to pug as its possibly a fault with the electrics.
Just to check, and dont take it the wrong way, it should come up with "Autolights Disabled / Enabled" on the center console when the key is in position 1 and you hold the autolight button in for 3 seconds

Hi,
Thanks for the help. Certainly won't take it the wrong way. Any advice is appreciated. Thought maybe there was a fault with elecs or S/W but wasn't sure if this was a common fault with 206s.
Cheers

It could just be a faulty light sensor!!
