Hi, My radio (standard Blaupunkt head, 206 XS 1.6 1999) has suddenly stopped working! The symptoms are exactly as described in this post: 206infoexchange.proboards22.com/index.cgi?board=Problems&action=display&thread=1113218247i.e. power/volume dial illuminates when pressed, but info screen on centre of dash just shows time/date/temp. Scrolling through shows "Radio: Out" and "CDC: Out" (presumably this is CD changer? I have a standard Clarion 6 CD changer that normally works fine.) Does anyone have any ideas? I've tried taking the radio out and putting it back in, but this made no difference. What controls the screen? Is there any way to reset it? What's the procedure for fitting a new head unit, does something have to be reset for the car to 'recognise' the radio? How do they communicate? It's really weird 'cos there was no event that triggered it off, i.e. when we first got the car the missus stalled it and we had to re-enter the code, but nothing like that happened this time. It didn't even ask me for the code when I refitted it! Any ideas greatly appreciated - driving to/from work is getting really boring without any tunes! Cheers, Chris.

i cant begin to tell you how similar that sounds to my problem.... ive even had to re-enter the code about a year ago, other than that never any problems with it! anyway, after going to various audio shops, no-one wanted to touch it and was forced to take it to peugeot to be sent off... took approx 2 weeks, just came back few days ago - cost £70.50 incl vat this is the interesting part, plugged it back in on saturday whilst still at pug, no joy EXACTLY the same message (ie radio 'out', cdc 'out') go storming back to the desk where the silly old tart works only to read on the work sheet 'ecu may need to be reconfigured in order to operate new code' at a further cost of £40.. not happy as they say they're fully booked so will have to wait another week...! getting reallly pi$$ed off at this point stressing that it cant need reconfiguring as it is a pre-multiplex model.. she speaks to one of the mechanics, he agrees with me.... gets in the car, checks fuse box under steering wheel, pulls out one of the main fuses and puts it back in.... all of a sudden its asking for a code....success helpful mechanic tells me that 'sometimes that fuse just needs to be played around with in order to fire up all the internal electrics....' now call me a cynic, but i bet if that i just payed out 70 quid for nothing - mechanic is adamant that there must have been a fault with the radio for them to have fixed it... radio still not functioning correctly as it is asking for a code every time i start the f'ing thing.. 'cchilds' - before going to pug, pull out every fuse under the dash and put it back.... wouldnt be surprised if it starts working - good luck...!

essexboygti it sounds like you have blown the fuse for the perm 12v supply. The radio will still work but every time you turn the ignition off it will loose all the settings.

There are two fuse boxes, one under the drivers side all the other next to the battery under the hood!! This is the main one, I would say check the one in the car first, there is generally a pic showing which fuse is which on the back of the casing!!
