I got boot rattle aswell!!!
But I am not sure exactly where to put the tape, could you go into more detail.

Cause mate - where the boot closes it clips onto a hook, which is bolted to the bottom of the boot!! This hook can not move, but as you drive along the boot itself moves up and down so it rubs against the hook causing the rattle. If you get some thickish tape (black electrical tape) and wrap it aroung the hook part, then when the boot moves the friction is again the soft/padded tape so no sound. If this doesnt help I can get pics, let me know!!

Just went out to wrap some nice soft elephant tape around the hook, and it has worked!!!!

After receiving a few PM's about this I have decided to post some pics!!! As you can see the black tape is around the part that the boot 'hooks' onto!! Hope this helps!!
