Is the little spanner always on next to the milage? i thought it just came on when you start it to show you how far till your next service but now ive noticed its on all the time next to the millage, ive never noticed it before so is it meant to be there or is it me being the spanner?

it stays on permanently if it thinks you have less than 500 miles till your next service.
if this is wrong you just need to change the interval indicated

maybe the car was serviced at an independent and they forgot to reset the service interval, so probably y?
its worth looking at the car maintenace history to find out??

Are you sure it doesn't think its 8650 miles past when it should have been serviced?

Probably not that overdue for a service, but might think it is. Some 206s have a problem where the service indicator loses hundreds or thousands of miles randomly. If yours has been doing that then my guess is the numbers will now be going up, not down.
