Hi All,
I have a stereo problem maybe someone can help me with. I purchased a replacement mp3 playing Mecer unit. I installed it using the standard ISO fitting, it worked fine (although it didn't retain the setting until I swapped the power wires around...thanks for the tip) Now the display has gone dim and no sound is coming out of the speakers) All the wiring appears good, does anybody have any ideas, the weird thing is it worked fine when I parked the car for the night and was goosed in the morning... thank you in advance for any advice.

as for the dimming you may need to adjust your stereo to automatic dimming instead of manual...so it switches the dim function on/off with your cars lights on/off...
as for the speakers not working hmm....thats making me think....make sure the MUTE phone cable isnt plugged in anywhere into the ISO connector.....and check all speaker connections from the ISO connection....
sorry thats all i can think of at the mo

Hey M3,
This was a toughie, after completely ripping out the standard wiring, re fitting all the wires etc. Turns out the headunit was shorting out on a metal plate above the heater. This was drawing most of the power but leaving just enough to light the panel. Hence no speakers and dim display. The unit is now cooked and is currently getting fixed.
On the postive side I now have much better wiring and better mounted speakers.
Thanks for you support.
Sandy
