Hi, I have another f**kin problem with my pug, for no apparent reason the the driver side back light has stopped working,
when u press brake it does not turn on When u turn side/head lights on, the back light comes on but the brake function does not work although it is brighter than the other backlight without pressing brake.. The other brake lights work fine, What can be the problem?
Cheers

The bulb is fine, it lights up, but doesnt get brighter when u hit the brake (if u know wot i mean..) Iv also put my LED backlights in just to check and the leds come on but the brake function is mongd.. Duno wot it is, you think it could be a fuse or wire or suma?

emm it was a fuse both sides wouldn't work..not unless on a 206 has different fuses for each side which i doubt...
its lighting up fine dim back lights so it turns on when u turn your lights ....may be your brake switch? its not sendin the signal to the rear right on brakin...aint too sure how the brake switch works

I am sure that the rear brake light and the standard rear lights use the same bulb but have two different filaments within them. Hence the normal light can work but the the brake light could be knackered. Hence it's still not a bad idea to change the bulb.
Previously i found that the light housing had corroded having got condensation in the plastic moulding. This stopped the brake light from operating This This was on the drivers side.

Thats strange - must have been alot of condensation over a large period of time!!

The cars 4.5 years old. I reckon i changed the lamp carrier about a year ago. And it had already been dodgy for about six months. So it would have been three years old when it started to be a problem.
I don't have a garage, so it's left out at night and i do a lot of motorway driving in all weathers.
I first started noticing the condensation at a year old. So i guess it took about two years to knacker it up.
Plus its probably a rubbish peugeot design that is at fault as well. Strange how it did not happen on the other side though. Must just be one of those things.
I ordered a new part from euro-car-parts but when it arrived it was just the coloured lens. I had to go to Pug garage to get the lamp bracket which came with the lens (which i did not need but had no choice). Reckon it was about £50.

That would explain it then - but still as you say the design must ne rubbish cause it shouldnt do that!!
Thats quite a bit - why do the prices keep coming up like ?123 not £123

Sterling sign (£) is okay on my PC. Must be a settings issue.
Mines runs on XP on the latest service pack etc etc etc.......
