no way Big...thats a complete wing change.......insurance people dont use filler. that dent even after beating it out will be a dodgy area to fill in..... the other persons insurance company is coffing up for the bill Okay if thats a wing change, can you show me or tell me where the seam is for the panel?? As far as I remember that panel of the car forms the chassis, therefore the only seem is down and around the rear light, along the roof under the black strip and then the panel is welded in on that horrid weld line right under the car where the jacking point is. But then there is no seam around the door or rear window. I don't think that area is a body panel!!! The only way I can see that being fixed is to be beaten from the inside out. I would be really really interested to know how you think you would change that as a panel.

I dont know how they fixed my car when it was damaged just after I passed my test 2 years ago, my sister was in a crash and all four quarter panels were damaged. If you cant replace these panels at all, how do you fit something like the dimma wide arch kit? is that simply blended into the exisiting rear quarter panel by a body shop?

I would imagine the dimma kit is drilled through the bodywork and rivitted on. Then the heads filled and the fibreglass bits smooth on and the sprayed totally.

nah Chi it wont be, it will get fixed im sure, the damage to my car was very very similar, and on both sides. overall, for all quarter panels, i think new bumpers (at least one) mirrors, and a few other bits and pieces, it cost 2.2k in insurance to fix. I doubt itll be a write off.

If she bust it then I would get the door fixed. It must have been caused by the other car hitting it so I can't see why not. Insurance company trying to save money thats what it is. See how much the door is to repair whilst work is being done and please please ask then how they fix it, as I ain't gotta clue how they gonna do that.

i am pretty sure i can argue for a new door.....what i will do is assess how it is as it goes along and if i am not happy with the door when i collect, then i am gonna kick up a fuss over it with AXA!!
