Cheers Big, it has arrived with the ball joint loose.
The ball joint can be moved up and down the groove at the moment. I will ask the mechanic to set it to the middle. He wont set it n e where else (friend of family etc).
I also have a prob with the passenger seat not moving forward to let passengers in, do you know where I could get the runners from on the net? And rough price?

just make sure that the ball joint is securely tightend before it goes onto the car....
....BIG i do agree, ours seem "more" secure.

....BIG i do agree, ours seem "more" secure. Well yours are reliant on the nut, ours is reliant on the ball joint literally popping through the eye, which takes a hell of a force to do. A nut can wiggle loose, but Lee has a lock nut, so technically when its tighten up tight, it can't undo, but its a nut on a thread, therefore the rubber could perish thats inside the nut thread (which is what creates the lock mechanism) and then the nut is just like a nut, it can wiggle loose. TBH it will be safe for about 10 years, but it certainly isn't permanant like mine is.

Looking at griffith website. £29 plus £2.50 delivery for quickshift. Have they dropped their prices. Has anyone ever fitted one of these from inside engine bay (ie from above). If you remove air filter box and hoses it gives you quite good access to top of gearbox.
