Hmm all I do to stop misting is press the button on the climate control to de mist..... and voila it works! but at the expense of poorer fuel consumption....like having your a/c on or stereo on.

just saying what I do... And it's only on for 5 minutes before I drive off... If you donth ave the button then all you do is put a/c on full fan speed blowing on the windscreen, the conditioned air wil de mist the windscreen pretty quickly. Saves having to wipe the screen with chemicals and leaving smears on the screen which will show up when the sun is low in the sky.

i think its worth a try.......therz no harm in wiping the hand wash on your screen and if u wipe thoroughly enough, then it wont leave any smear marks.
a/c is a wonder, i use that for quick starting after its completely misted the entire w/s.

You should use a/c at least once a week for 10 minutes. This helps lubricate the seals in the a/c system and help prevent leaks.

I always use it at least 5 minutes into the journey to work if its especially cold, does help prolong the life of it before it needs servicing.
My g/f's parents have a 407sw and they ALWAYS leave climate control on auto even when they open the windows on hot days! (means the a/c is always running despite the temp inside) and they wonder why it needs re-gassing so often!

And also I think the tank is fuller so more fuel is push through, allowing faster reaction. But I do see what your saying!!
I also like in near the end of the tank as car is lighter!!
