i need to install a new base which the aerial screws into, on my car this is at the front and according to the dealer accessed by removing the interior light, of course he didnt offer to do it for me... and now i cant get the light off cos i'm worried about breaking something, are there any clips that have to be undone? cheers

Just out of interest why do you need to do this?
I can't get any radio reception in my 206 at the moment and all is fine behind the head unit so believe it to be a problem at the aerial end. Which sounds like something you may be experiencing??

You need to prise the courtesy light out with a small screwdriver at the drivers side, then disconnect it from the wiring, then just unclip the surrond from the headlining

bit embarrassing.. i errr.. had an accident with a carwash ;D i was so damn tired i couldnt be bothered 2 hand wash it, then (again cos i was tired) i forgot to unscrew the aerial and it snapped off with half of it stuck inside the base.. only about 8 quid for the new aerial and base though so not so bad, and i learnt my lesson !

I NEVER unscrew my aerial not that I've been through a car wash in this car, but even in my old 306 i never did. Will have to watch out now.

really? well to be honest i thought it wouldnt be a problem as the aerial folds down flat against the car roof.. the events were quite comical tho, the girlfriend says "do u have an aerial" and at that exact moment we see the thing roll down the windscreen.. i swore alot..  oh and before that they guy had tried to charge me 17 pound for a 6 pound wash! foreigners... |

hehe I guess round my area they must have a lot of people which forget, I have before, but when paying for it they say "do you have an ariel? remember to take it off" and I'm like yeah like I'd forget... then while im sitting there I think oh crap...  I wouldnt mind changing my ariel base for one of those shark fin one's but just worried that the reception would be pants as alloy ariels arent any good either. |

Shark fin aerials are pants. For ones that are any cop you need to spend £50 and even they are dodgy. The ones you get for like £20 have NO signal collecting ability whatsoever. If you do get one then you need to get some of that thin FM aerial and wind it into it before you install. Thats my only idea anyway.
The only ones that work are BM's
