Hi all
Quick question:
Can anybody tell me what the recommended mileage is for a cam belt change. I've got a 1.6 petrol 8v engine.
Regards Paul

I believe the handbook states 80000m, though I would recommend getting it changed at no more than half that. You simply cannot be too careful with timing belts.

In the haynes manual it's 80000 like pete said but it recommends doing at 40000 if the car is used for a lot of short journeys like pete recommended So eeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrr petes right ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I am always a little paranoid about timing belts as I've had a couple let go on me before now and both were significantly before their scheduled renewal dates. Having said that, neither was on a Peugeot. My personal view is its so cheap to do (especially compared to a new engine!) that you are better safe than sorry.
