I have had constant probs with my peugeot 206 since i got it from new 2001. in 2002 it started to cut out on me, especially when reducing speeds at roundabouts. Then it started to missfire constantly - ok on acceleration but at static speeds of 50/60mph the engine miss fires (bunny hops) and does the same when engine idle. The engine managment light kept coming on an off all the time, and eventually when the garage finally managed to look at it with the em light on they replaced everything - ecu, throttle housing etc. eighteen months on its doing it again, cutting out, bunny hopping, poor idleing, the engine managment light comes on and off all the time....and peugeot garage thinks im barmy and making it up as they can never find anything wrong. Does anyone else have these probs? im fed up now with it

doubt it's the coil pack
gillbush's car is they same as mine was also all those misfires did my cat in so i had a new one just before my warannty ran out
i had a new coil pack - np change new ecu - no change new injectors - the end of the misfiring and in motion cut outs, better but still not perfect idle and still cutting out at idle
since they did the last update nov 03, and checked all the previous work. it's been fairly ok
however still has flat spots and now and then loses revs on returning to idle but the ecu seems to correct itself

i have had loads of these problems, would be solutions have been potentiometer changed, injectors changed, coil pack changed, throttle body changed, engine ecu upgraded. also car cut out and would not restart, had engine ecu not reading through BSI on diag2000 machine at agents. took out ecu was full of water drained it and dryed it and now it is all good and running agian, but still get engine managment light and misfiring and batteling to run when cold, you cannot accelerate or the engine will die you have to coax it to run then flat spot clears and you are good to go.

I have only just got my 206, my engine management light keeps on coming on and it cuts out on me aswell sometimes. Not had it very long i thought it was me doing something wrong. I took it back to the garage that i bought it from and they plugged it intoa machine to see what was wrong and it showed that there was nothing on. My friend said that that light picks up all the sensors in your engine and as i have had a induction kit fitted that might be why the light keeps on coming on. i dunno?? It seems to chug a bit aswell though. Has anyone got any ideas?

If you have an induction kit on your car, you should really need ECU remapping in order for your car to function probably! Because the ecu would get confuse by sudden increase in large air intake "Er? Why the car is using so much fuel and pick so much air?" Then the engine light might come on after a while after you have fiited your toy! That's why most people would stay with the panel filter. Think! If you want a nice momo steering wheel would you just short cut the job by taking the air bag fuse out or take out the air bag light blub behind the dials or bridge the circuit? A big NO!!!
