Alright mate!! The induction kit is not that hard to fit!! You will have to remove your air box (undo the metal '0' clasp) and then fit the induction kit on there!! Should be relatively easy!! It is worth getting a cold air feed - you can get the piper x ones for about £20 these days (ebay, piper x direct) and this will seriously boost your power!! Look at these pics below - (from Blackpugs car) They are the K&N induction kit but Piper X works on the same principle!! photobucket.com/albums/v239/blackpug/pug3.jpgphotobucket.com/albums/v239/blackpug/pug4.jpg

yeah Lee I know the filter isn't too hard to fit but I am not sure where I would direct the cold air feed I gather I would attach the cold air feed to air filter then under car or something?

yo need opinions can't make my mind up if its worth the extra hassle as i want more power not so much sound already got a twin exhaust system fitted produces enough noise still got chance to get this 2nd hand viper filter but this cold air feed worrys me if its stuck under bottom of bumper only logical place i could think of what about dirt and water gettin etc... currently got standard OE box but have K&N panal filter. what does the viper filter perform like just by it self without cold air feed, better than K&N panal filter? help me decide do i keep oe box and k&n filter or get viper on! cheers.

The viper induction on its own will be sooo much better than just a panel filter. But if you do want that bit extra power then linking up a cold air feed will help alot. If the induction kit is just left where it is then obviously warm air will get in as the air brought in is from the engine bay!!. But link it to a cold air feed that takes in air from behind the grille!! That way you will get the coolest air possible and it will be force in!! Which is even better!!! If your selling the panel filter let me know!! Insurance wont let me get an induction really!!

Looks really good, especially the carbon fibre, but does anyone know the true performance figures for a gti. Most sellers of the kit just quote the all too familiar 'increased bhp' tagline, which i know not to trust. Ive seen some dyno sheets for this thing and it doesnt look like much gain over normally aspirated engine for the price! but I cant believe ppl would spend 200 quid just to get the induction noise, it must do something pretty good. So if anyone has the performance figures on this kit, please post it as it genuinely interests me. Sorry to be a doubting thomas, but im very mistrustful of manufactureres who claim increased performance without backing it up with rigorous scientific evidence. It tends to remind me of those shampoo adverts, who con women with their made up psuedo-science speak 'volumising ceramide-r complex with extract of gibbons anus'
