i'm looking at some lowering kits but they all seem for the front because the car has a torsion bar. its the back i would prefered lowered over the front.
what products have you guys used for the rear?? and what do you suggest?
thanks

If you just want the back lowered then just get the torsion bar adjusted. Its probably the cheapest way of getting the car lowered.
You only really need a lowering kit or equipment to lower the car if you are going to lower the whole car on all four corners.
The front will just need springs and dampers, and the torsion bars are the "springs" of the rear and they adjust, so you just need dampers for the rear.
I would advise getting new dampers (shocks) if you are lowering as lowering springs will keep the original dampers in compression and therefore when they are used use nearer the limit of the damper thus creating more pressure on the seals etc...so new dampers that are shorter is always wise, but you don't have to do this both at once if money is a problem it can be done separately, but it will cost for two trips to the garage.
Don't forget also that lowering just one end of your car will upset its overall balance.

swt how much did that set u back teddy? Koni don't make their own springs to my knowledge. and GTi dampers aren't very good. too soft and leaky! I think Adi was referring to Bilstein Sport dampers which are about £140 each for the fronts and about £70 each for the rears. More expensive that the Konis but they also have trickier internals. GTi 180 rear bars aren't a great deal stiffer than GTi bars but they're also a lot cheaper than going to Peugeot Sport! Pug Sport 21mm bars are about £215 delivered from France. 22mm bars are available but they are double the price. They will also make the car more oversteery...i like to keep the balance of the car towards understeer with a bit of oversteer on lift off - i don't want the rear snapping out in emergency situations! It might be ok with thicker bars but i didn't want to risk it. I'm a cautious kind of fella! 21m bars ride fairly well too. Don't drop the front anymore than about 30mm. With uprated rear bars you can get away with lowering the back about 40-45mm and the car sits perfectly. This lot cost over £700. It does handle a lot better than the original set up. very nicely balanced too. ......

think u will find that teddy fitted most of it himself, thus saving himself a fortune on labour!
the cost of £700 odd also inc new rear torsion bars, so u can minus that off coz u wont be needing that unless u want a set-up like teddy's.
