I have had a good look at my spoiler in the past as I couldn't work out how it was fixed.
I now know that it has a flange that grips round the boot lip at the top sides. There is no drilling of the bodywork at all. On the underside of the boot where this flange wraps round to are two bolts. These clamp the spoiler to the underside of the boot lid. I would guess there is some mastic or rubber seal to prevent water from getting in and under the spolier mount.
If someone was to swing off it then it would break off, but then so would a scooby's spoiler do the same. Personally I can't see the spoiler breaking off at the mount points, but I could see it snapping in the middle. To do this would need some force but not considerable amounts of force. I have heard of them being ripped off.
Chi - I would say you are looking more like £100 to get a spoiler sprayed to match. Needs a base coat, then two paint then laquer with each layer needing to be baked. Will take the guy a couple of days to do the job properly.

I would make sure that they use the right colour code. I know there are 6 versions of my Moonstone Blue, so you need to have exactly the right paint code. Personally I would get it done either somewhere I know or by a Pug bodyshop.
If you get it the wrong colour it will stick out like a boil on a bear's arse.

So with the ones that are screwed on I take it you have to unscrew them from the inside of the car then?

If you look inside the boot lid where the spoiler is, you should see what I best describe as fingers that grip the spoiler to the underside of the boot lid. There you should see two little bolts on a thread. These is what I THINK grip the spoiler to the boot lid.

I personally don't like that one, I prefer the Pug one, it sticks out a bit more and theres a gap between the spoiler and the lip above the tailgate, which give it a more distinct look

That ones ok, but personnally the best one at the mo is the one I have. Its not too small (like pug standard) and not too big (like WRC). So its in between.
Mine never had a fitting kit, the body shop used their own fitting things which was good!!
